Job Purpose

Role of a MEP Head, you are required to provide the interface between project ownership and delivery. You are required to act as the single focal point of contact between the Client, consultants, and the Construction Contractor(s), ensuring the desired project objectives are delivered. You must have adequate knowledge and information about the business and the project in order to make informed value-add decisions.

The MEP Project Head position is responsible to successfully planning, managing, executing, completing and handing over multiple MEP projects related to energy efficiency, energy performance contracts, and retrofits for large hotel projects, high-rise towers, and other commercial facilities should be sufficiently experienced in value engineering

Job Accountabilities – Duties & Responsibilities

Technical specialist in the management team for electrical, HVAC, plumbing, fire systems, ELV, and specialized systems, pumping stations, water supply and treatment, etc. Monitoring design, supervision during construction to ensure best practice design and quality construction is delivered on time and to cost.
Review and monitor the progress of the Contractor’s MEP work, such as installation of power substation and Distribution works, UPS, Air conditioning, BMS systems, Lifts, Escalator, Fire hydrant & protection system, water distribution system and other MEP activities as required.
Serve as the MEP expert in the PM team for all matters related to design, quality assurance, and documentation of mechanical works.
Understands project goals, helps the Construction Manager in the preparation of the project execution strategy
To handle various projects starting from initialization, planning, execution, controlling & closure involving subcontracting, construction and hover within time frame & budgetary schedule.
Handle client discussions - Coordinate with architects, engineers for the project
Advise the Construction Manager regarding the critical deficiencies of contractors and associated risks and suggest corrective measures
Should have proficiency in handling all MEP Services, Design Management and site execution.
Cost Analysis & productivity analysis to be done and well implemented at site
Coordinate with the Planning Department for updates in master project plans and working out recovery plans in case of delays
Coordinate the MEP Services consultant, Vendors, Contractors, subcontractors, Project Execution Team, and Planning Team, and be ahead with respect to analyzing and adopting the usage of the latest technologies for better performance.
Continually review the contractor construction schedule during the progress of the site works with regard to MEP services and report to the Project Director on the same
Document project progress and/or delays through letters which can be used as contractual aids during disputes and flag off items/instances which may cause delay.
Able to review resource reports like (manpower histograms, plant and machinery schedule) and ascertain adequacy of resources deployed for the timely completion of the project
Review the monthly/fortnightly progress of the MEP contractors in terms of deliverables.
Should have knowledge of MS Office, AutoCAD, BIM software, and Construction Project management software
Streamlining day-to-day operations as Head of the function.

Skills Required (Knowledge and Skills)

MEP Management / Design & Execution
Strong knowledge of installation and testing & commissioning of all Electrical/HVAC /Piping / Plumbing / Firefighting Systems used in building services and infrastructure projects
Prior experience of design management or maintenance will be essential
Awareness/ Exposure on various Construction/System methodologies
Excellent interpersonal & communication skill and stakeholder management
