About the Role
Areas of responsibility:

Cost Estimation: Develop detailed cost estimates for large-scale PV solar projects (DC & AC side, along with civil estimation), including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.

Pre-Bid Analysis: Conduct thorough pre-bid analysis to maximize the chances of winning bids by developing competitive and accurate cost proposals.

Lump Sum Tenders: Work on lump sum tenders involving detailed break-up estimations and requiring in-depth coordination with internal and external stakeholders.

Budget Management: Monitor project budgets and expenditures, ensuring cost-effectiveness and adherence to financial targets.

Efficiency Improvement: Identify opportunities for efficiency improvements in engineering and construction management processes to optimize project costs and timelines.

Risk Assessment: Identify potential cost risks and provide mitigation strategies to ensure project financial health.

Vendor and Contractor Liaison: Work closely with suppliers and contractors to obtain competitive pricing and ensure cost estimates are accurate.

Project Documentation: Prepare and maintain detailed documentation of cost estimates, assumptions, and methodologies used.

Cash Flow Preparation: Prepare cash flow projections to assess the commercial viability of bids.

Collaboration: Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information for accurate cost estimation.

Market Analysis: Conduct market research to stay updated on current trends, pricing, and best practices in the solar industry.

Reporting: Generate and present regular cost estimation reports to senior management and project stakeholders.
Competencies :

Technical Skills: Proficiency in cost estimation software (e.g., CostX, ProEst, PlanSwift) and MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Project).

Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and numerical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.

Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.

Education :

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., PMP, AACE) is an advantage.
Experience :

5-10 years of experience in Solar and Renewable industry.

Experience in engineering, project management, or project execution will be an added advantage.
